Aims & Scope of Workshop:

Date: 02 April, 2025
Venue: National Simulation Lab, NAMS, Bir Hospital
No. of Participants: 24

Aims & Scope of Workshop:

Overview: Critical events in obstetrics will be a one-day course, which will offer didactic lectures in the morning combined with simulation-based learning in the afternoon. Not only will it focus on the clinical management of events unique to parturients but will highlight the importance of multidisciplinary communication and teamwork. Evidence based, up to date recommendations on critical events will be presented. The afternoon session will consist of hands-on experience using human patient simulators and computerized mannequins’ simulator.
The core faculty will consist of faculties from Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu Medical College and Bir Hospital. We have successfully conducted ‘Perioperative Critical Events in Obstetrics’ on 06/19/2022 and 04/01/2023 in Kathmandu, 12/07/2023 in Biratnagar and 31/08/2024 in Pokhara. This workshop will follow similar format with some modifications based on the comments we received after the workshop.
Dr. Daisy Sangroula is the workshop designer and coordinator from University of Louisville, USA.
